Pioneer Village

The Pioneer Village is located in Beaver Creek State Park, Columbiana County, Ohio 8 miles north of East Liverpool, Ohio; easily accessible from State Route 11 and State Route 7. The park is open from dawn to dusk all year. The village buildings are open to the public weekends between May 1 through October 31.

There are ten structures that represent Ohio history from its early pioneer days to the Victorian period. Center pieces of the village are a restored 1830s water powered grist mill and Sandy & Beaver canal lock #36. Ohio’s pioneer days are represented by log buildings that include; blacksmith shop, chapel, school house, cabin, and trading post.

The remainder of the village has a relocated 1870s covered bridge and the original 1875 William's homestead.

Rental Information

We are now taking rental reservations for 2013 season. The Vodrey Chapel, Williams' House front porch, lawn area, barn pavilion and Malone covered bridge, each rent for $75 per day. The Sam Shaffer Barn rent for $125 per day. Additional rental information is available by contacting 330-227-9944.

May 25 and May 26, 2013 The Road To Gettysburg, A Civil War Re-enactment

We are pleased to announce the tradition of a Civil War re-enactment opportunity will continue at Beaver Creek State Park under new management. The 2013 event will be conducted under the co-sponsorship of The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park and the 7th Battalion ANV, 27th VA, Shriver Greys. This will be a maximum event for the 7th Battalion Army of Northern Virginia commanded by Colonel Tim Perry. Colonel Chris Smith, 2nd Battalion Commander of the Birney's, will be leading the Federal troops.

We are inviting you to join us in this beautiful setting within easy access of Wheeling, WV, Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA. Battles will be scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday afternoon and there will be a Civil War ball Saturday evening. Sutlers (Vendors with Civil War and antique merchandise) will be conveniently located near all of the weekend activities and the encampments.

This is a family event and admission is free for all spectators. Spectators may expect to interact with the re-enactors as well as take part in special Civil War events at the park.
